Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.
—Amen

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.

O Lord hear my prayer, and let my cry come to you. O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of your departed servants the remission of all their sins, that through our prayers they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired.
—Amen

St Teresa of Avila (1515-1582)
Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing affright you.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
He who has God wants nothing.
God alone suffices.
—Amen

It’s me, O Lord. Many times You have told us in Your Word to put our trust in You. You tell us to trust in You with all our heart, and to lean not on our own understanding. You call us to put our faith in You and to follow the light You give us, as sheep follow a shepherd.
O Lord, right now there are many difficulties facing me. Life is a challenge on many fronts, and I sometimes feel anxious and perplexed. I choose today to put my trust in You. I choose today to believe that You are greater than all and that You are able to keep me from falling, to direct my paths and lead me in the everlasting way.
Thank You, O God for being my Father, a Father in whom I can trust to be at peace. Thank You for Your Son Jesus, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Thank You that I can cast all my cares upon You, for You care for me. Heavenly Father, I love You. I trust Your. I will rest in You, for You alone cause me to dwell in perfect peace.
—Amen

O Heavenly Father, God of Love, You gave us your Son Jesus to be not only Physician of our souls but Healer of our bodies and minds as well. Lord Jesus, I turn to You in this time of illness. Please come to me now, and lay Your healing hands on me. Let the warmth, peace and healing power of Your Spirit fill me now with Your life and love. I receive You, Lord Jesus!
Heal me according to Your Divine Will, Lord Jesus, and enable me to serve you with a healthy body, soul and spirit. May Your Joy, O Lord, be my strength this day.
—Amen

We turn to you for protection,
holy Mother of God.
Listen to our prayers, and
help us in our needs.
Save us from every danger,
glorious and blessed Virgin.
—Amen

(Based on the prayer of a 7th Century Irish Monk)
Heavenly Father, Creator of the universe, and Author of its laws, you can bring the dead back to life, and heal those who are sick. We pray for our sick brothers and sisters that they may feel Your hand upon them, renewing their bodies and refreshing their souls. Show to them the affection in which You hold all Your creatures, and grant them an early recovery. In Jesus’ Name
—Amen
“Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry!”
St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina

And Mary said:
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness;
behold, from now on will all ages call
me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
His mercy is from age to age
to those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm,
dispersed the arrogant of mind and
heart.
He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones
but lifted up the lowly.
The hungry he has filled with good things;
the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped Israel his servant,
remembering his mercy,
according to his promise to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his descendants
forever.”
—Amen
Luke 1:46-55

When he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of
God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
—Amen
Matthew 5:1-13

If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophesy partially, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things. At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
—Amen
